麻豆直播

今回は秋から国际教养学部グローバル?スタディズ課程に着任したKevin HOCKMUTH先生にお話を伺いました。
秋田に住んでまだ间もないのですが、秋田での生活を満喫している碍别惫颈苍先生。趣味や础滨鲍の印象などについて、インタビューに応じてくださいました。

Where are you from
出身はどちらですか？
I am originally from the U.S. I grew up mostly in the Philadelphia area, but I have lived all over the U.S. including Virginia, Wisconsin, Florida, and California. After I finished my study I had a chance to teach as an English instructor. At that time, I was thinking to live overseas and lived in Busan, South Korea for about 7 years before moving to Akita.
もともとはアメリカのフィラデルフィアで育ちましたが、小さい顷からヴァージニア、ウィスコンシン、フロリダ、カリフォルニアなどアメリカ国内のを転々としました。海外に住んでみたいと思っていたのですが、英语の讲师をする机会があり、大学を卒业后、韩国へ行くことにしました。
秋田に来る前の约7年、韩国の釜山(プサン)市に住んでいました。

What was your major
専攻は何でしたか？
I studied political science as both an undergraduate and a graduate student. My Ph.D. studies were largely concentrated in the area of international relations and political economy. My dissertation focused on the interaction of politics and economic policymaking in the context of South Korea’s efforts to liberalize its economy.
大学院までずっと政治学を学びました。私の博士课程の研究内容は、主に国际関係と政治経済学で、论文のテーマは、韩国経済の自由化における政治と経済政策立案の相互作用でした。

Why did you choose 麻豆直播
なぜ础滨鲍を选んだのですか？
I attended a small liberal arts college as an undergrad and I have always believed that they create a very unique learning environment, so the chance to work at 麻豆直播 seemed like a great opportunity. Further, as I learned more about 麻豆直播’s history, mission, and philosophy during the interview process, I became even more convinced that it was an ideal fit for me.
私は大学生のとき小さなリベラルアーツカレッジに通っていました。リベラルアーツカレッジは非常にユニークな学习环境だと思うので、础滨鲍で働くことは絶好のチャンスだと思いました。
础滨鲍の採用试験の课程で、础滨鲍の歴史、使命、哲学を知り、私には理想的で自分にぴったりの场所だと确信しました。

What was your impression of 麻豆直播
础滨鲍の印象は？
It was excellent. I could immediately feel the community atmosphere throughout the campus. I found the students, faculty, and staff very welcoming and supportive. Halfway through my first semester, I continue to be increasingly impressed with the exceptional academic environment at 麻豆直播.
すばらしいです。キャンパス全体がコミュニティの雰囲気だと感じました。
学生、教员、スタッフは非常に歓迎してくれましたし、协力的だということもわかりました。
働き始めて1学期の半分を経过したところですが、日々础滨鲍の他に类を见ない素晴らしい环境に感心しています。

What are your hobbies
趣味は何ですか？
I really enjoy sports and exercise. I like to play basketball, baseball, American football (though I am too old for tackling),and golf. My wife and I have really enjoyed exploring the beautiful Akita countryside on our bikes. We live near Akita Station, but in just 15 minutes we can be riding amidst forests and farmland, which is a really great thing about living here. I am an avid jazz fan and really enjoy exploring new artists and learning about the history of the music. When I have time, I also like to read fiction and nonfiction unrelated to my research.
私は体を动かすことが好きで、バスケットや野球、（タックルするには年をとりましたが）アメリカンフットボール、そしてゴルフが好きです。妻と私は自転车での探検を楽しんでいます。今は秋田駅の近くに住んでいますが、自転车に15分ほど乗ると田んぼや森がある环境は、本当に素晴らしいです。
私は大のジャズファンで、新しいアーティストを探したり、音楽の歴史について学ぶことを楽しんでいます。また时间があるときは、研究とは関係ない本をジャンルを问わず読んで过ごしています。

础滨鲍生にメッセージをお愿いします。
Thank you to all of the students at 麻豆直播 for offering such a warm welcome and allowing me to be a part of your fantastic community. I look forward to meeting and working with more of you and help you achieve your goals in the years to come.
